As an AV technician you manage and provide oversight of the audiovisual (AV) and video teleconferencing (VTC) for an Operations Group at the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, KS. You also interact with the training audience to digitally document their progression through the operations process.
Your role will involve collaborating with a team of AV/VTC technicians to support national security missions. You'll assist with setup, operation, and teardown of video-related equipment for exercises and events. Additionally, you'll contribute to maintaining personnel readiness by documenting training audience activities and by participating in training and professional development activities.
Audiovisual and video teleconferencing support:

•    Provide high-level support and troubleshooting for all VTC and AV technology, including setup, configuration, and maintenance. Act as a technical point of contact for commanders and other senior leaders regarding video conferencing and event support. Ensure smooth integration of VTC sessions with other mission command information systems for briefings, After Action Reviews (AARs), and other command presentations.
•    This includes planning, coordinating, and executing all video support requirements for Warfighter Exercises (WFXs) and other high-level command training events, to include . The team lead ensures all AV/VTC systems, including webcasting and streaming capabilities, are fully operational and troubleshoot complex issues to minimize training disruption.

Responsibilities:

Team support and collaboration:
•    Work closely with a team of AV/VTC technicians, assisting with scheduling and performance tasks.
•    Participate in the setup, operation, and teardown of all video-related equipment for exercises and events.
•    Contribute to personnel readiness by engaging in training and professional development to maintain proficiency in all relevant systems.
•    Audiovisual and video teleconferencing support:
•    Provide high-level support and troubleshooting for all VTC and AV technology, including setup, configuration, and maintenance.
•    Serve as a technical point of contact for commanders and other senior leaders regarding video conferencing and event support.
•    Ensure seamless integration of VTC sessions with other mission command information systems for briefings, After Action Reviews (AARs), and other command presentations.
•    Streaming and webcasting operations:
•    Assist the team in operating and maintaining advanced webcasting and streaming video systems to disseminate information during exercises.
•    Support troubleshooting of complex streaming issues, ensuring quality video and audio delivery for remote participants and observers.
Equipment management:
•    Provide demonstrated expertise in operating and maintaining VTC codecs, VTC enterprise components, and video streaming appliances.
•    Utilize strong knowledge of and experience with Cisco, Tandberg, and Polycom products to support VTC systems.
•    Manage equipment inventory, conduct preventative maintenance, and coordinate with vendors for repairs and upgrades.
•    Exercise planning and coordination:
•    Participate in Joint Exercise Life-Cycle (JELC) planning conferences to coordinate technical requirements with military and contractor stakeholders.
•    Plan and prepare all AV/VTC capabilities to meet demanding exercise timelines, often in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Regulatory compliance:
•    Ensure all activities and procedures comply with current Army and Joint regulations and publications applicable to VTC and AV support.
•    Problem-solving and issue resolution:
•    Serve as the primary escalation point for all Operations Group technical issues related to video and audio systems during exercises and events.
•    Lead the diagnostics and resolution of complex technical problems, often under high-pressure conditions.
•    Ensure quality of A/V products to outstations, to include audio and visual feeds, slides, and other products as directed by the government.
This position may require access to restricted facilities. Due to the nature of work performed within those facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications: 

•    Training/education in video production or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
•    Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in the support and troubleshooting of videoconferencing and audiovisual technology.
•    Extensive knowledge with demonstrated experience in Webcasting and Streaming Video systems using today's latest technology.
•    Experience working in a dynamic environment and producing quality work under demanding timescales.
•    Strong knowledge with demonstrated experience operating and maintaining VTC Codecs, VTC Enterprise components, and Video Streaming appliances.
•    Experience working with and troubleshooting Cisco, Tandberg, and Polycom products required for AAR VTC support.
•    Familiarity with all current Army and Joint regulations and publications applicable to this position prior to employment.
•    Must be a US Citizen and possess an active DoD Secret or higher security clearance.
